Our growth has created an immediate need for a Senior Electrical Engineer (PE) in our Portland Maine office.

    Responsibilities

    Senior Electrical Engineer (PE) to join our MEP design team for our Portland, Maine office but, working out of our Boston, Massachusetts office is an option.  

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage design projects from client requirements to plans and specifications
    • Coordination with local power utility companies for new/upgrades of electrical service
    • Electrical load calculations and energy calculations
    • Design of electrical power and lighting systems from service to load
    • Design of fire alarm systems, normal and emergency power systems, nurse call systems, telephone systems, interior lighting design and site lighting design
    • Service room layout, utility conduit coordination, grounding and lightning protection
    • Prepare design narrative and feasibility reports
    • Electrical & fire alarm field surveys and reports
    • Photometric calculations using electrical AGI 32 software
    • Use engineering and design computer software to complete assigned work (i.e. Autodesk Revit MEP & AutoCAD)
    • Position will require travel throughout New England and New York

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
    • 10+ years' of relevant design experience
    • Current PE registration in the State of Maine or Commonwealth of Massachusetts with the ability to quickly attain professional registration in New York, Rhode Island and other New England States is desired
    • In depth knowledge of FGI Guidelines, NFPA 99, The national Electrical Code, and other applicable codes
    • Ability to work independently, anticipate work flow and nurture clients
    • Ability to multi-task on multiple projects and meet strict deadlines and work well under pressure
    • Capable of providing technical direction and on-the-job training to less experienced Electrical Engineers
    • Position requires experience in the design of electrical systems for acute care hospitals, nursing homes, outpatient surgery centers, medical office buildings, community health centers and other medical facilities as well as design of electrical systems for other architectural projects
