    We have an immediate need for a VICE PRESIDENT, CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT to direct the activities of LiRo’s growing New England operations. This position is responsible for business development and day-to-day project oversight for our Construction Management and Resident Engineering and Inspection activities throughout New England and will be based in our Boston, MA office

    Responsibilities

    Ideal candidates will have management experience directing major construction projects (both buildings and roads/bridges/tunnels) as well as driving business development activities. This position requires strong communication skills as well as outstanding technical and leadership capabilities. Must have in-depth knowledge of the New England construction market and relationships with principals at potential clients (public and private). Prior experience with large, public-sector projects is a must. Candidates should possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture or construction management. Professional Engineer’s license required.

    Qualifications

    Searching For:

    • A senior executive with New England area public sector infrastructure and buildings experience to lead our New England Construction management group.
    • Individual skilled and experienced in business development of public sector buildings and infrastructure opportunities.
    • Successful record of accomplishment managing diverse construction projects.
    • Skill and comfort in giving project presentations to owners / clients.
    • Ability to make educated recommendations on encountered design and construction issues.
    • Knowledge and experience in managing and hiring of technical staff.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • 5-10 years’ experience in the role of Senior Construction Project Manager, Sector Head or Project Executive.
    • Expertise in maximizing staff utilization and billability.
    • Experience in technical and career development of engineering staff.
    • Successful record of accomplishment managing business unit as a profit center.

     

     Requirements:

    • Strong relationships with New England area public sector clients.
    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management.
    • Massachusetts Professional Engineer License. Connecticut and/or Maine licenses would be a plus.
    • Must be interested and experienced in focusing on business development and marketing aspect of position in addition to managing engineering and inspection staff.
