    Our growth has created an immediate need for an IT Project Manager for our Oyster Bay, NY Office

    Responsibilities

    The primary goals for this position will be to identify, coordinate, and support various initiatives in a Government IT department. The primary focus will be to support the continued implementation of various complex integrated programs and initiatives for a Government entity.  Reports to the IT Program Manager.

    • Develop client relationships and manage client expectations
    • Achieve a level of understanding of business requirements that ensures successful client communications and project implementation
    • Establish and maintain internal and external project direction and control including authoring/executing statements of work, project plans, issue management plans, risk management plans, scope management plans, etc
    • Work alongside primary decision makers and stakeholders to capture, understand and deliver solutions based on requirements
    • Foster and promote innovation between end users and the Information Technology organization
    • Manage change management policies and procedures
    • Vendor and subcontractor management

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree required, MBA a plus
    • PMP Certification Required
    • At least seven (7) years' experience delivering successful mid to large scale, on-time, on-budget, high quality initiatives
    • At least five (5) years of Information Technology experience
    • Strong project management experience, including staff management, risk management and delivery management in the Information Technology industry
    • Experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle
    • Extensive client side skills that demonstrate ability communicate, document and translate into technical solutions
    • Ability to manage multiple activities and deliverables with a strong commitment to urgency
    • A proficient team player with excellent listening, written and verbal skills that can develop solid working relationships across organizational boundaries and management levels
    • Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyze complex business systems and processes
    • Experience in project management methodologies that focus on standardized processes
    • Well-developed leadership skills, with excellent written and verbal communication abilities
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft office and project management tools (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project)
    • Experience with financial applications such as BASTax and Dynamics AX a plus
