We have an immediate need for a Lead Civil/Structural Engineer for our Buffalo, NY or Rochester, NY offices.

• Lead the pursuit of civil/structural engineering projects in the Western NY region, with a specific focus in the transportation, infrastructure, and institutional markets
• Serve as Project Manager on a wide variety of project types and sizes
• Supervise/perform a wide range of civil/structural engineering analysis and design tasks related to: site planning and layout, highway pavement and grading design, bridge repair and replacement, site stormwater management, utility planning and layout, etc.
• Lead coordination and presentation of submissions with local municipalities, utilities, agencies, and town planning boards
• Perform site investigations to observe and document existing conditions and prepare plans for repair or replacement
• Supervise the development of project plans, design calculations, specifications and lead the coordination with other design disciplines as required to deliver high quality engineering services
• Provide responses and solutions to issues during the construction administration phase of projects.
• Utilize a broad assortment of technical and project management skills on projects that range from small site restorations to large scale new construction
• Engage with existing clients and pursue new clients to support growth of the business in the regional office across LiRo’s service lines
• Attend firm and local industry and business development functions
• Coordinate staffing needs, project financial performance, and performance reviews for the local staff
• Mentor and develop junior engineering staff

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
• 12+ years’ experience in Civil/Structural Engineering
• NYS PE required
• Ability to provide guidance to junior level engineers
• Understanding and application of code requirements
• Experience in using various engineering and drafting analysis software
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multitask and consistently meet deadlines
