We have an immediate need for a Structural Project Engineer for our Edison, NJ Office.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of structural engineering analysis and design tasks in structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and wood structures, and foundations
  • Perform site investigations to observe and document existing conditions
  • Prepare engineering calculation packages; assist in the preparation of design drawings and specifications
  • Support the development of project plans and the coordination with other design disciplines as required to deliver high quality engineering services
  • Serve as technical lead on simple to moderately complex assignments
  • Serve as client liaison/assistant PM on small – mid size projects, as directed by supervisor
  • Support/lead the construction administration phase of projects through the review of submittals, response to Contractor RFIs, and performance of site visits and inspections
  • Utilize a broad assortment of technical and critical thinking skills on projects that range from small renovations to large scale new construction 
  • Involvement with local chapters of technical/professional engineering societies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering, Master’s degree a plus
  • 5+ years’ experience in Structural Engineering
  • PE required
  • Ability to provide guidance to junior level engineers and drafters/modelers
  • Understanding and application of code requirements
  • Experience in using various structural analysis software
  • Strong listening, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work on a team, multitask, and consistently meet deadlines
  • Auto-CAD experience a requirement, Revit experience a plus
