Our continued growth has created an immediate need for a Senior MEP Superintendent located in Syracuse, NY.

The client for this project is for the NYS Office of General Services (OGS).

Responsibilities

  • Overall contract compliance via daily inspections of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work
  • Completion of Daily Field reports which track weather, contractor activities, sub-contractors, visitors, field directives, and manpower.
  • Review contractor As-Builts monthly to ensure they are updated
  • Conduct and document per D&C Procedures onsite QA/QC activities through use of First Delivery Inspections, Closure Inspections, Mock-Up Inspections, and Acceptance Testing
  • Prepare and coordinate Pre-Activity meetings prior to significant scopes of work.
  • Perform a detailed comparison of the contract drawings, specifications, and approved product submittals to ensure conformance with the contract.
  • Monitoring of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing sub-contractors & suppliers
  • Assist the contractor(s) with the coordination of activities on the construction site with the other trades and the facility
  • Monitor workforce and performance against the work plan
  • Ensure OSHA 10 cards are on file for each worker
  • Ensure compliance with generally accepted standards of workmanship for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing trades
  • Offer recommendations to improve constructability
  • Complete punch lists and track completion
  • Coordination and scheduling with 3rd party specialty inspections (i.e.: asbestos abatement monitoring or steel inspection)
  • Perform additional duties as deemed necessary

Qualifications

  • Minimum (6) years of experience in construction involving multiple phases of large-scale building/rehabilitation project
  • Minimum (4) years of experience as an Assistant Superintendent or Inspector on large scale, multi-contract building project
  • Ability to develop/communicate a project work plan, monitor manpower and performance against that work plan, and be able to perform a detailed comparison of the design drawings against each other to ensure coordination between each of the various project trades
  • Strong communications skills and a collaborative approach working with both client and construction contractor/subcontractors
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Experience with Submittal Exchange and Bluebeam preferred
  • Experience in Institutional Construction preferred
