We have an immediate need for a Lead Structural Engineer for our Boston, MA Office.  

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of structural engineering analysis and design tasks for new and existing structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and wood/timber building, bridge, retaining wall, and waterfront structures
  • Handle site investigations to observe and document existing conditions and document structural deficiencies
  • Perform condition assessments and load ratings of various structures
  • Supervise and assist in the development of project plans, design calculations, specifications and lead the coordination with other design disciplines as required to deliver high quality engineering services
  • Provide responses and solutions to issues during the construction administration phase of projects
  • Utilize a broad assortment of technical and project management skills on projects that range from small renovations to large scale new construction
  • Mentor, train, and develop junior engineering staff
  • Lead the preparation of technical proposals in the pursuit of new work
  • Coordinate staffing needs, project financial performance, and performance reviews for the local staff
  • Attend local industry and business development functions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering; Master’s Degree a plus
  • 12+ years’ experience in Structural Engineering
  • MA PE required
  • Strong mentor-ship skills
  • Ability to supervise, delegate tasks and provide guidance to technical staff
  • Understanding and application of code requirements
  • Experience in using various structural analysis software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, work on multi-disciplinary teams and consistently meet deadlines
  • AutoCad and Revit experience a plus
