Our continued growth has created an immediate need for an Assistant Super / Construction Inspector located in Dannemora, NY.

The client for this project is for the NYS Office of General Services (OGS) and the Department of Corrections and Community Supervisions (DOCCS).

Responsibilities

  • Inspect construction work to ensure compliance with building standards and project specifications
  • Inspect all material upon arrival to the jobsite to ensure compliance
  • Document inspections and report any issues
  • Coordinate scheduling of subcontractors, consultants, inspectors, and vendors to complete each project on time
  • Monitor work and materials to ensure quality control standards are met at various stages of the project
  • Communicate with the project team and support each subcontractor to execute his job duties effectively and efficiently
  • Perform inspections or schedule inspectors to meet the varying safety and compliance regulations of each job location
  • Maintain a written daily log of visitors, job actions performed, materials expended, and problems resolved on the job site
  • Travel between multiple job sites and simultaneously manage work loads of individual projects
  • Identify and resolve problems and conflicts, organizing meetings and cooperating with team members in various roles as necessary

Qualifications

  • OSHA 30
  • Willingness to work inside minimum and maximum security prisons
  • Ability to pass criminal background check
  • Minimum (3) years if trade experience or comparable training in inspection of large-scale building project valued above $1 million
  • Willingness to respond to calls off normal hours and occasionally work extra hours to meet project needs
  • Must be able to work autonomously, follow procedures, and interpret contract documents.
  • Ability to understand and interpret contract documents including specifications and drawings
  • Experienced in new building construction, major renovations, civil work and the installation and commissioning of Electrical
  • Strong communications written and oral skills and a collaborative approach working with both client and construction contractor/subcontractors
  • Ability to maintain field and office records and perform quantity computations

- Compensation: Min: $72,500 - Max: $95,000
