We have an immediate need for a Senior Structural Engineer for our Mineola, LI or New York City Office.   

Responsibilities

  • Utilize a broad assortment of technical and project management skills on projects that range from small rehabilitation projects to large scale new construction 
  • Lead structural engineering analysis and design tasks for a wide array of new and existing structures, including but not limited to: structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and wood/timber building structures, transit facilities/stations, foundations, and site/waterfront infrastructure
  • Lead site investigations to observe and document existing conditions and document structural deficiencies
  • Perform condition assessments, load ratings, schematic designs and prepare written reports to summarize the results of the investigation
  • Supervise and assist in the development of project plans, design calculations, specifications and lead the coordination with other design disciplines as required to deliver high quality engineering services
  • Provide responses and solutions to issues during the construction administration phase of projects
  • Support the mentor-ship, training, and development of junior engineering staff
  • Support the preparation of technical proposals in the pursuit of new work
  • Attend meetings and site visits with clients as a representative of the firm
  • Actively participate in local industry organizations and business development functions
  • Support the development and improvement of the department’s technical standards
  • Coordinate staffing needs and project financial performance

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering; Master’s Degree a plus
  • 7+ years’ experience in Structural Engineering
  • NY PE required
  • Strong mentor-ship skills
  • Ability to manage projects, clients, delegate tasks, and provide guidance to technical staff
  • Understanding and application of code requirements
  • Experience in using various structural analysis software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and consistently meet deadlines
  • AutoCAD and Revit experience a plus

- Compensation:  Minimum:  $120,000; Maximum:  $160,000
