Overview

We have an immediate need for a VDCO Manager for our New York City Office in lower Manhattan.

Recently, Global Infrastructure Solutions Inc. (GISI), the parent company of The LiRo Group and Hill International, Inc. consolidated a portion of the highly experienced staff of both LiRo and Hill in the Northeast to create a larger, more efficient, and cost-effective team to serve clients.  LiRo-Hill is a 1100-person firm with offices in NYC, Long Island, Buffalo, Rochester, Boston and Metro Park, NJ.

Responsibilities

About the Role:

VDCO Manager is a mid-level position with substantial career growth paths to program management and subject matter expertise. In this role, you will use your skills and experience to lead BIM/VDC projects and perform advanced tasks. You will deepen your knowledge in one or more areas of interest through project and research-based initiatives. You will be tasked with visualization, 4D Modeling and Scheduling, clash detection, quantification and simulation for some of the most complex construction projects in the world. The role will involve interfacing with Construction and Design teams in BIM coordination meetings, visualizing and creating reports on an ongoing basis.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement VDC strategies and deliverables, including 3D models and project-specific outputs.
  • Maintain federated BIM, run clash detection reports, run model standards and health audit reports, maintain issues log, and assist project teams in resolving issues.
  • Support the development and implementation of BIM standards, templates, and best practices for both LiRo-Hill and client-specific needs.
  • Develop project execution plans, covering scope, schedule, communication protocols, and software tools.
  • Review design models for constructability, providing feedback to design partners.
  • Oversee project deliverables, ensuring adherence to timelines and budget constraints.
  • Supervise VDC/BIM team members and coordinate their activities across projects.
  • Create and maintain BIM project schedules, milestones, and resource allocation plans.
  • Conduct BIM workshops and training sessions to support preconstruction and construction phases.
  • Identify, assess, and escalate project risks as needed to maintain project integrity.
  • Ensure model compliance with execution plans and project standards through regular reviews.
  • Lead quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) efforts, using point clouds, contract drawings, shop drawings, and as-builts to support design and construction.
  • Troubleshoot BIM software & platform issues and stay current with emerging tools and technologies.
  • Produce 3D & 4D visualizations to support project pursuits, communication and decision-making.
  • Collaborate on-site with client project teams to ensure seamless integration of VDC processes. Must be willing to work on-site with client project teams.
  • Prepare and deliver construction tracking reports to clients, ensuring project updates are accurate, timely, and aligned with project goals. 
  • Perform LiDAR scanning and integrate scan data into project workflows.
  • Identify and support pursuit opportunities for business growth, innovation, and strategic expansion.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Architecture, Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or AEC-related discipline preferred.
  • 5 to 7 years experience working as a BIM/VDC professional.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to express ideas clearly and professionally to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion and to set priorities and manage competing demands while working independently. 
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
  • Experience utilizing BIM for Project Controls and reporting.
  • Experience utilizing data analytics & visualization tools such as PowerBi is a plus.
  • Experience developing tools with Revit APIs, Python, Dynamo is a plus

Software Skills:

Required:

  • Revit
  • Navisworks / Syncro / ACC Model Coordination
  • 3D Laser Scanning (LiDAR, SLAM, Drone)
  • Autodesk BIM360 or Construction Cloud

Preferred: In addition to the required skills, candidate with skills listed below are preferred,

  • Rhino, Grasshopper, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Primavera, Maximo
  • Bentley OpenBuildings / Open Roads / Microstation
  • Revit APIs, Dynamo, Python

-Compensation:  Minimum: $110,000: Maximum:  $125,000.  The range provided is the salary that the Firm in good faith believes at the time of this posting is willing to pay for the advertised position.  Exact compensation will be determined on the individual candidates’ qualifications and location.
