Recently, Global Infrastructure Solutions Inc. (GISI), the parent company of The LiRo Group and Hill International, Inc. consolidated a portion of the highly experienced staff of both LiRo and Hill in the Northeast to create a larger, more efficient, and cost-effective team to serve clients.  LiRo-Hill is a 1100-person firm with offices in NYC, Long Island, Buffalo, Rochester, Boston and Metro Park, NJ.

Responsibilities

 

Project Overview:

The Second Avenue Subway Phase 2 Project is a major infrastructure undertaking to extend the Q Line service in Manhattan. The project will be delivered through multiple, overlapping design and construction contracts. The Project Management Consultant (PMC) will be a vital part of an integrated Project Management Team (PMT) responsible for administering, managing, and ensuring the successful completion of the project safely, on schedule, and within budget.

 

Position Summary:

This opportunity entails being responsible for observing contractor's work to monitor the projects compliance with contract documents and report findings. Coordinates and monitors the inspection efforts of inspection staff in their assigned areas of responsibilities to determine that Contractor's construction activities are monitored and controlled in accordance with design plans, specifications, and contractual requirements. Monitors contractor's construction progress as compared to overall project and contract schedule. Responsible for assisting in the compliance and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, specifications, and other contract documents. Leverages technical knowledge to assist in the review and interpretation of construction drawings, specifications, and construction reports.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect, monitor, and oversee construction field work tasks and activities to ensure conformance to plans and specifications. Reads, interprets, and confirms compliance with applicable contract documents.
• Perform or oversee on-site material testing. Review plans and specifications to determine material requirements (quantities and qualities). Responsible for tracking of item quantities and preparing pay estimates and ensures that procedures and materials comply with plans and specifications.
• Initiate field changes to drawings and specifications, identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents. Review contractor’s daily construction reports for accuracy, thoroughness, and consistency. Responsible for maintaining as constructed drawings and monitor contractors progress to analyze against progress schedule.
• Consult with Resident Engineer on work progress and construction problems, proactively recommends solutions, assist in the resolution of issues, and act as a liaison with the engineer of record.
• Remain current and knowledgeable of industry technology and tools used to perform inspection work through industry resources, training, and research. Gain exposure to new technology and utilize it (GPS/Rovers) to increase efficiency and accuracy of inspection tasks.
• Perform office engineer work when needed including but not limited to; preparing documentation for change orders, reviewing change order scope of work, schedule, and cost, process and maintains tracking logs for RFIs, submittals, pay estimates. and other deliverables.
• Assist in constructability reviews.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 4 years relevant experience, or
• Experience in deep excavation and slurry
• Identify complex discrepancies or conflicts within documents and take appropriate action to resolve issues.
• Perform advanced calculations, develop plots and graphs using Excel, and drafts detailed reports for project progress reporting to the client.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or American Concrete Institute (ACI.)
• OSHA 30 certified preferred.
• Agency safety training certified.
• Trained in digital construction management software such as Constructware, Asite or similar preferred.

  • We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a positive work environment
  • Compensation:  $65.00 hr. Min - $75.000 hr. Max
  • The range provided is the salary that the Firm in good faith believes at the time of this posting is willing to pay for the advertised position. 

Exact compensation will be determined on the individual candidates’ qualifications and location
