Construction Superintendent  - Saranac Lake, NY

 

We are seeking a Construction Superintendent for our client, OGS (Office of General Services for NYS)

Responsibilities

  • Services required on various projects managed out of the Saranac Lake regional office. Active and future projects include working with the following clients - DOCCS, DEC, APA, and OPR.

  • Under the direction of the Engineer-in-Charge, monitor/coordinate the daily construction activities amongst multiple contracts. Ensure work is performed in accordance with the contract documents and approved construction management plans.

  • Work with the project teams to resolve issues that arise onsite. Monitor work progress to ensure work is completed in accordance with approved project schedules/milestones.

  • Coordinate 3rd party consultant services for onsite construction material testing.

  • Document work progress, including all required quality control inspections and meetings. Assist the Engineer-In-Charge with job coordination meetings.

  • Coordinate with client agency contacts on a daily basis.

  • Comply with specific duties outlined in the construction procedures manual.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a secure facility a plus.
  • Experience in new out of the ground construction. 
  • Shall possess, at a minimum, six (6) years of experience in construction involving multiple phases of large-scale building/rehabilitation projects. A minimum of four (4) years' experience shall be as an assistant superintendent or inspector on large-scale, multi-trade building projects.
  • Must be able to develop/communicate a project work plan, monitor manpower resources and performance against the work plan.
  • Must be able to review contract documents for cross-trade coordination issues and coordinate the work accordingly.

  • Compensation: for this role ranges between: $36.00 hr and $50/hr

Exact compensation will be determined on the individual candidates’ qualifications and location
